Thoracic Surgery Department

The thoracic surgery department is part of the Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases and Pneumophysiology Timisoara, where Dr.Rorich about 50 years ago, performed the first successful surgeries such as thoracoplasties, extrapleural pneumothorax, phrenicectomy and later the first pneumonectomy. Since then, thoracic surgery has evolved through new methods and techniques for improving the surgical procedure, both for small interventions and for major surgeries of great importance, reaching more than 10,000 operated cases.
